In the Xbox Game Pass version the save file is separated into two files. Now that you know what save file you want, we have to talk about how both version of the game represent your save file.Maybe there is a solution but this is as far as I was able to get with what I know. Now the next steps are doable with any save but only the autosave ended up actually loading fully other save files ended up having an infinite loading screen. So if you can identify which save is the autosave by when the files has been modified this is the save you want to use. The only way to identify your save file, without opening each one up using Notepadd ++, is to see when it was last modified, as that time displayed will be what ever time you made that save. Now its time to identify which save is which.

The two files here are your save file, now to identify and merge them.So it should look like this. Each folder there on should contain two files with random numbers and letters and a container file. Here you should find yet another folder with a long string of numbers finally open that you should be greeted by different folders, each one containing a save you made and all of them named with a random string of numbers as well as a container.index file. Open that and find a folder named SystemAppData followed by a folder inside that called wgs, then open the wgs folder. You'll see a folder here named DeepSilver followed by a string of numbers. Note: your app data folder may be hidden and you'll have to use the "show hidden items" option in the File Explorer. Next you'll want find your saves that is hidden in C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Packages.First you'll need something to edit XML files without messing up all the formatting when you make changes, for this I recommend Notepadd++.Using this method i was able to recover one of my saves but not the most recent one, as far as I can tell it only works in recovering an autosave. If you're like me and used the game pass to try out the game and you knew you wanted to own it instead of paying the subscription fee every month, and you don't want to lose any progress, this guide might help you. Hey, I'm making this guide because I had to go through this process.
